Cognitive Behavior Therapy

This is a form of mental health treatment where you are sort of doing therapy on yourself. It involves thinking about your own thoughts and how they affect your behavior. As humans we can analyze how and what we are thinking and decide then change how and what we think. This change in thoughts leads to allowing us to actually reprogram our brains to think differently.

An example would be when you get upset at your spouse because dinner is burned, asking yourself why that is such a “big deal” for you? What about your thoughts makes you (over) react the way you do, and then changing those thoughts so that you do not get upset. (Also see “reprogramming” (link??)) (neuroplasticity)
